Cherish Relationships

It has been a long day for me. I am now in church. I wanted to do something for my friends' wedding, which is in three weeks' time, but I realised I brought along the wrong thumb-drive. All the information I need is stored in the other drive.

Well, since I cannot do that, I shall update my blog for the day.

Earlier I attended the funeral of my friends' mum. I will write more on that as I go on. After the funeral, I had lunch with some friends who also attended the procession. Then I came to church and a while later, I met my accountability group for a time of catching up. In two hours' time, I have Worship Team rehearsal - this Sunday I am playing drums again. Praise the Lord for that! :)

Though the final send-off for my friends' mum was a sad moment for everyone, I also know they are assured that she is now with the Lord. It was wonderful to see how closely-knitted the family is and this showed me how important it is to maintain a close bond amongst family and friends.

Throughout the funeral, the word "relationship" kept surfacing. I was reminded how vital it is to cherish my relationship with family and friends. Many times I take them for granted and in some occasions, the relationship was strained due to my carelessness and insensitivity.

Well, I pray this new year will also be a time for me to strengthen and renew relationships that I have built. It is also a time to seek reconciliation and I pray God will humble and give me the courage to seek forgiveness if I have stumbled my family and friends in any way.

Why is it that suddenly this word "relationship" came to mind? Well I only live once here on earth and I do not know when I would die - if I do not cherish the relationships God has given me now, then I will never have the chance to do so anymore.

My family and friends that I have are blessings from God - I need to be a good steward for that. It is never easy to maintain or build relationships but they are also not impossible. I pray God will help me as I love everyone I hold dear to my heart.

I shall end here. I shall nap for a while before I go for the practice.

Thanks be to God for relationships!
